Biscornu Embellishments – How To Bedazzle Your Biscs

June 6, 2026June 28, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish

I love making biscornu. I’ve got a whole basket full of the things. Some end up as pincushions, others hang out on my christmas tree or as seasonal decor. There’s even a few that work out as lil tiny pillows to hold rings and things. That said, the majority of my biscornu are pretty plain […]

Hoop Finish Your Cross Stitch

August 16, 2025May 10, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish, Tutorial

I’ve been posting monthly tutorials on this site for SIX YEARS now. And before that on old blogs or via videos. So how is it I’ve never done an article on the hoop finish? It’s arguably the most iconic cross stitch finish and one of the easiest to do. But the truth is, I don’t […]

Block Finish Tutorial: Free Standing Cross Stitch Ornaments

July 12, 2025April 26, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish, Tutorial

This is a cross stitch finish I’ve been wanting to try myself for ages, and I’ve quietly hoarded any useful styrofoam blocks I’ve received in shipments for years now. Well it’s about time I get around to it, so let’s try out a block finish together! If you like the mushroom-themed stitches I’m making into […]

Quaker Ball Deep Dive: Cross Stitch Finishing Techniques

November 16, 2024May 10, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish, Tutorial

Back in 2022 I did a Stitch-A-Long for my very own faerie themed ‘Quaker Ball’ design. And I’ve been meaning to write this article ever since! Today, I not only want to go over how to assemble one of these, but also the origins of this technique, where to find designs, as well as how […]

Square Flat Ornament: Cross Stitch No Glue Finishing Tutorial

October 12, 2024May 29, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish, Tutorial

It’s time to revisit this flat ornament tutorial! A while ago I put together a step-by-step featuring a round flat ornament. Though the assembly concepts are the same, a lot of you reached out asking about making square ones, or even other shapes. Plus it’s been nearly FOUR YEARS since I wrote that one, so […]

Biscornu Bottoms: Use Up Those Fabric Scraps

April 12, 2024April 26, 2024 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish, Tutorial

I don’t usually do anything special for my bicornu bottoms. Typically it’s just a blank piece of the same fabric I stitched the top with. Maybe something small in the corners. But as they tend to sit on my desk as pin cushions I don’t want much on the backside that will just be hidden […]

Cross Stitch Gift Card Stocking Tutorial

December 15, 2023May 10, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish, Tutorial

What’s a Gift Card Stocking? Ok, first off. What is a gift card stocking anyway? It’s pretty much what it sounds like. A Christmas stocking like you would put on your mantle and fill with goodies for the holiday. But small sized just large enough for a gift card. A mini stocking. You can sew […]

Bell Pull or Wall Hanging – Cross Stitch Finishing Tutorial

November 2, 2023May 10, 2026 Siri0Tagged Finish, Tutorial

Bell Pulls are such an interesting finish that we don’t see referenced as often anymore. Even when we do, stitchers are often unaware of their history and they are now just known for being a long thin wall hanging. So let’s discuss the origins of the bell pull and then talk about how to make […]

ANY pronouns.

I usually do these recaps at the end of the year w I usually do these recaps at the end of the year with everyone else. But this year I wanted to do a halfway check in.

I reduced the amount of projects I'm releasing each month, so I've been feeling like I haven't done any stitching in comparison to my 'usual' year. But that's not true at all-- I've stitched a lot! These are just the cross stitch pieces I've released publicly so far this year!

Most are available through my Patreon/Etsy, but the Bill Cipher and the Pride Butterflies were freebies up on my Ko-Fi!

An then I've gotten a few other crafty projects done this year too. Just fun personal projects. I did some lil felt figures for my husband for valentines day. I finished up some crochet mittens early in the year. I painted some minis for The Witcher board game. Finished up some UFO'd placemats I adopted from the local crafty reuse store a year ago. I hand stitched another EPP potholder. And of course, my sashiko floss adventure!

Not pictured: a lot of home improvements we've been doing, including painting two whole rooms. Several gardening upgrades. And plenty of projects I've started but I haven't finished yet. 😉

This is a great exercise to do when you feel like you haven't been doing 'enough' lately... sit down and actually make a list of what you *have* done. Chances are it's not as much as you 'wanted' to have done. But it's likely to be more than you thought! Perhaps just in a different category than you expected.

The important part is not comparing yourself to others' progress. Instead, celebrate what you've made no matter how much or how little that might be.

I haven't had enough time to make much progress on I haven't had enough time to make much progress on this Halloween EPP project, but I did recently find this snack container at Aldi that I had hoped would hold all my hexagons.
Unfortunately the wells are not quite tall enough to hold the hexies vertically, or the top just pops right back open. But they do stack somewhat nicely flat, so I think it's still useful.

Does anyone have any suggestions for better containers to hold 1" hexies? 🤔
36 hours of cross stitch in June. Finally back abo 36 hours of cross stitch in June. Finally back above an hour a day. Still not back at the pace I'd gotten used to in previous years, but that's probably for the best.

Work has been chaotic and exhausting. Life has been doing the life thing. And I am le tired.

Buuut July brings #Artfight month! Hopefully will get some stitching done as attacks again this year. It'll be my 7th year!

Anyone else doing Artfight this year? 👀
Just a reminder that jewelry organizers also make Just a reminder that jewelry organizers also make great floss drop holders. 😂

It's hard to see because I have stuff on that little shelf, but this particular organizer had a panel on the right with a wire mesh for putting earrings on. Instead, I cut a piece of cardboard that exact size, and wrapped a cross stitch around it with a bit of batting between and just.. slid it right into place. So it's a good cross stitch frame as well! Now I have my own floss drop shrine.

Which is better, because I don't wear much jewelry. 🤣 And a cascade of pretty hand dyed threads above my desk is much more inspiring.
Oops I skipped summer and went straight into chann Oops I skipped summer and went straight into channeling fall colors. Hope you don't mind. 🤣 July's Patreon pattern is gonna be this bright range of reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. I can't wait to show it to you!
