Biscornu Embellishments – How To Bedazzle Your Biscs

June 6, 2026July 13, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Finish

I love making biscornu. I’ve got a whole basket full of the things. Some end up as pincushions, others hang out on my christmas tree or as seasonal decor. There’s even a few that work out as lil tiny pillows to hold rings and things. That said, the majority of my biscornu are pretty plain […]

Project Bags for Cross Stitch: What To Look For

April 4, 2026May 9, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Organization

This month I’d like to spend some time talking about project bags. And making one for myself, of course. This will not be a tutorial, so I apologize if that’s what you’re looking for. Rather I’ll be researching the different types of project bags out there, and providing some links to patterns and shops. Because […]

Design Challenge: Colors I’ve Never Used Before

March 7, 2026July 13, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch

Every once in a while I like to do a fun design challenge to keep things creative and fresh. Whether that’s limiting the number of colors I can use, randomly generating a palette, working with a new brand of thread, or designing with a particular finish in mind. This month I wanted to try designing […]

3D Cross Stitch Spotlight – Various Ways to Make Dimensional Stitches

February 7, 2026July 13, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Resource

Bit of a different article this month — rather than a tutorial I wanted to do a bit of a spotlight of all the different ways people have come up with to make 3D cross stitch. There’s a lot of ways to tackle the three-dimensional shape, and hopefully these examples will give you some inspiration. […]

How To French Knot; Or What To Try Instead

January 10, 2026January 22, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Tutorial

Okay, so I technically already have a french knot tutorial as part of my Advanced and Specialty Stitches list. But I wanted to go a bit more in depth and offer multiple sources and tutorials, as well as additional ways to substitute them. So here we are, going a little more in-depth. With links to […]

Cross Stitch Challenges: Ways to Gamify Your Stitching!

December 13, 2025June 29, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Resource

It’s December at the time of publishing this, and that means lots of you are either scrambling to finish up holiday stitches or already planning out your whole next year. Thankfully I’m in the latter camp. Instead, I’m planning next year’s cross stitch challenge. December is when I recap what I actually got done this […]

Custom Cording From Embroidery Thread

November 15, 2025December 28, 2025 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Resource, Tutorial

I’ve been wanting to make custom cording for a long time and just have never set aside the time to do so. Like with many of my explorations, making an article/tutorial on how to do it is a great incentive for me to make it finally happen. And now you have a reason to try […]

Cross Stitch Handmade Gift Ideas

October 11, 2025May 10, 2026 Siri0Tagged Cross stitch, Resource

A few years ago I put together a list of gift ideas for your favorite cross stitcher (even if that’s yourself!). But I’ve always wanted to make the opposite list — ideas stitchers can make as a handmade gift for others. As it turns out, that’s more difficult than it sounds. It really depends on […]

Yep I totally trailed my threads for those little white highlights. Absolutely no shame. I generally test all my designs myself and I have a limited amount of time to do so. So, y'know. I save time where I can. You can't convince me otherwise.

Artfight so far! I've done about a dozen attacks Artfight so far! I've done about a dozen attacks so far, mostly pixel art with some cross stitch.

I've been having fun experimenting with backgrounds. I haven't done much in the way of backgrounds before, especially not a full background like that first image. So it's been quite the learning curve! This is my favorite part of artfight really, an excuse to play with my art style without concern.

I don't use this swirly sparkly shading style in my cross stitch usually as it's kinda annoying to stitch, but I'm really curious what y'all think of it. Should I design some stitchy patterns like this?

If you look close at that cross stitch attack, you'll also notice I mixed cross stitches and half stitches. It's actually on 28 count so it uses cross stitch over 2 and half stitch over 1 and it came up with a pretty interesting texture. How does it look? Up close it looks kinda wild. But at a distance it makes for some very nice curves so idk.

Anyway, this is just a few of the attacks I've done so far. Mostly my favorites! So if you're doing artfight this year, feel free to peek my profile, I'm Sirithre there as well! And I'm on team Tragedy. <3

I posted a bit ago asking what people used to stor I posted a bit ago asking what people used to store their perle cotton balls. And... well, this is what I ended up doing.

I have this small set of handmade wooden drawers that I picked up from Facebook Market place years ago. I cleaned out the bottom drawer, got some custom acrylic dividers made to fit my drawers (all three drawers are different sizes! Fun!) And fit two balls to a divider.

The top two drawers now have my full DMC set. Which I would show but a good chunk of them are kitted into various project bags throughout my house so..... it's looking a lil' slim right now. I'll be sure to show those off next time I have them all in one place.

This month's cross stitch pattern is this cute lit This month's cross stitch pattern is this cute little leafy piece. Because I'm already yearning for the cool days of autumn.

I don't handle heat very well, so summer is definitely not my favorite time of year. I gotta do *something* to get me through the hot season, so channeling a bit of fall leaves is one way to do so.

My apologies if this feels a bit out of season though. 🤣 Hope you like it anyway!
