So, many of you know I’ve been struggling financially since the new year due to a nearly $500 increase in monthly bills.
Well, I have good news and bad news.
The good news is, I’ve been offered a new job at nearly double my current pay.
The bad news is, I have no idea what that will mean for the channel.
New job is a technical position in downtown Denver. So I’ll have to go into the office, and I’m sure my immune system will revolt. I’ve been working at home for YEARS and I don’t know how it’ll react to me having to interact with people on a daily basis.
I’ve put in my two weeks notice at my current job, but I’ll be spending most of my time off brushing up on networking and server management before the new job starts on May 1st.
Since my birthday is May 4th, I doubt I’ll get the day off and will have a birthday stream the weekend BEFORE my new job starts. So look out for news regarding that on the 29th or 30th of April.
Then I’ll likely be offline for a few months. I’ll be on Twitter, Instagram, and in Discord semi regularly, but no streams will be planned. They may happen spontaneously, though.
Training will be M-F for 4-6 weeks and I’ll be spending time after work either reviewing notes from training, or sleeping 12+ hours due to the inevitable exhaustion of having to go out in the real world again. What with the social anxiety and terrible immune system.
I estimate it will take some time for me to adjust and I simply won’t be able to guarantee any streams during that time, as it’s more important to me to make sure I’m at my best and acclimating to the job as smoothly as possible.
Once training is over I’ll be working graveyard shift, 4 days a week. So it’ll be a bit of an adjustment period to shift my sleep schedule. But i’ll have less people to interact with, I’ll be sleeping better, and things should slowly get back to normal. Then I can start working streams back into my schedule.
I appreciate all your support these last few months. It’s thanks to you guys that I managed to make ends meet. But I simply can’t keep relying on it, and getting a better paying job is something that’s been needed for a while.
As much as this transition will likely suck, I know it’ll be for the best. For a happier, stress-free Siri. Or at least so I can pay off some of the pile of credit card, student loan, and medical debt.
I fully expect many of you to unsubscribe, and I certainly don’t blame you. I still want to see you in my chat when I come back, whether you resub or not. Never feel guilty or like you can’t hang in chat just because you had to unsub. In any stream, really. We still enjoy your company.
Thank you for reading. See you around the interwebs. <3
